The January 5-Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released a new date for this year’s African Nations Championship (Chan), promoting a tournament home-based talent and only players are featured on the basis of domestic league.
Earlier this month, the tournament was postponed until the tournament started in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, just weeks before the competition was postponed until the summer due to infrastructure and technical problems.
Now, after the meeting of a CAF executive committee held in Rabbat, the original February 1-28 dates were re-fixed on August 2-30.
The Executive Committee also received a detailed update on preparations for the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCN) to be staged in Morocco.
Six cities and nine stadiums have been selected for the flagship football tournament in Africa, which will run from December 21 to January 1826 to Rabat, Casablanka, Agadir, Marakach, Face and Tangier.
