Canter grabs Bahrain Championship in extra time

Canter defeated a colleague from English Dan Brown and Larrazabal in a play-off on Sunday after the Spaniard looked at the course to finish his 10th European triumph in 72 holes.

But three-putt Bogey Larrazabal at 18. He gave Canter and Brown a second chance when the trio ended at 14 under par.

Then Canter took advantage of the first additional hole, producing arrows of the week to set the Tap-in bird and return to the winner’s circle.

Canter, whose previous victory at this level took place at the European Open last summer, said: “He feels great.

“I really had to hang in the first few rounds this week. The scoring is nice, not a great green shirt, it just fun.

“Last night I talked to my coach Mike Walker, and he gave me some ideas to improve my iron game. Today I hit the ball well and put it terribly. Just how it goes.

“I am so stunned that I got stuck there. It’s unfortunate what happened to Pablo, but I am absolutely glad that I got stuck and got another win. ”

Canter made an eagle and birdie in a flawless final round 69, while Brown and Larrazabal fired 70.

David Micherali ended as the best Australian, he tied in the 49th position, four below, after 69, while Jason Scrivener was with the 55th place after the last 73 left him three below.
