Leicester City have signed French defender Woyo Coulibaly from Parma for a reported fee of £3 million.
Coulibaly, 25, signed a four-and-a-half-year contract after reaching an agreement with the Italian club, subject to international approval.
His contract with Parma expired at the end of the current season.
He is the Foxes’ first signing of the January transfer window and their first signing since Ruud van Nistelrooy became manager in November.
“It’s an honor to be here. I feel very good, I am very welcome and the training ground is impressive,” Coulibaly said via email Leicester side, external.
“There were a lot of impressive players at the club. It will be a challenge in the Premier League but I’m looking forward to it.”
Coulibaly made 88 appearances in three and a half years at Parma, helping the club gain promotion to Serie A last season.
The Frenchman could make his Leicester debut when Van Nistelrooy’s side take on Fulham on Saturday in the Premier League.
