British Alfie Hewett defeated the defending master Tokito Odea in the Australian Open final to win his 10th title of a wheelchair of the Great Slam.
The Japanese player won the Paralympic gold on Hewett last summer, and defeated the 27-year-old in the previous three main finals.
But the second Hewett seeds improved the 18-year-old with the victory of 6-4 6-4, winning her second singles title in Melbourne.
This ends with a successful tournament for Hewett, who Won the sixth title with the next double Next to Gordon Reid on Friday.
“Tokito, in the last few years we have had so many battles and finals, so thank you for allowing me to have this one,” said Hewett.
“It seems that an attempt to overcome this guy is impossible to do, so I’m very happy and overwhelmed by emotions to get this trophy.”
Last year, Hewett won his first Wimbledon Singles title to complete a great career.
“Great congratulations to Alfie and your team,” Odea said.
“This is just the beginning of the year, so I think we have more battles, more finals for this year.”
