Beau Greaves wins third WDF Women’s World Darts Championship at Lakeside

Beau Greaves became the WDF Women’s World Darts Champion for the third year in a row.

20-year-old Englishwoman Greaves dropped a set before beating 18-year-old Scotsman Sophie McKinlay 4-1 in the final.

After winning over the bull at 89, Greaves said: “I just felt so relieved. I felt a lot of pressure.”

Irishman Shane McGuirk (29) won the men’s title, beating 70-year-old Paul Lim 6-3.

Lim, nicknamed the “Singapore Slinger”, appeared on the same stage at Lakeside where he became the first player to throw nine darts in the world championship 34 years ago.

McKinlay was previously beaten 2-0 in the girls’ final by 16-year-old Englishwoman Paige Pauling.

Archie Self (15) became the first English boys’ world champion after a 3-2 victory over Jenson Walker.

Players are barred from competing in both the WDF World Championships and the PDC tournament, which begins on December 15 at Alexandra Palace.
