Chelsea will not let Joao Felix leave the club in January.
Although The Portuguese international has struggled to play regularlyFabrizio Romano believes the Blues are likely to keep him until the end of the season.
The Blues signed him to a long-term contract four months ago And they have no plans to cash him. Felix has started just two league games this season .
Romano said GMS : “Joao just arrived on a permanent deal four months ago, I don’t see Chelsea changing their position on Joao in January. The situation is completely calm at the moment.”
The player has been linked with a number of clubs recently but it looks like he will be allowed to reinvent himself at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are lacking depth in their attacking unit and need Felix to step up in the second half of the campaign.
With Mykhailo Mudric facing a potentially lengthy suspension, this could be a golden opportunity for the Portuguese international to stake his claim as a regular starter. Felix has shown his quality in the past and it remains to be seen whether he can impress manager Enzo Maresca in the coming weeks.
