However, despite the excellent form, Chelsea insiders are still looking to strengthen some key areas of the squad – both in the upcoming January transfer window and next summer.
The BlueCo are said to be prioritizing the addition of a new centre-back at Chelsea, which could mean the possible departure of either Axel Disasi or Benoit Badiashler (Simon Phillips), E. Fulton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehy, Benfica’s Tomas Araujo and Antonio Silva are all likely to leave.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are also likely to bring in a prolific new number nine, although Nicholas Jackson has been outstanding this season and Christopher Nkunku has been equally prolific off the bench.
Chelsea have made contact with Ipswich Town over Liam Delap and are holding talks over a potential deal, according to some reports.
The Englishman has impressed under Kieran McKenna but Delap is by no means the only striker target over the past few months, with Victor Chokeres, Victoria Kedou Osimhen, Benjamin Sesko, Victor Boniface and Dusan Vlahovic have also been linked sporadically.
Chelsea are ‘trying hard’ to sign Getafe star Cristiano Uche
Another midfielder who can operate as a centre-forward but is more of a traditional attacking midfielder is Getafe starlet Cristiano Uche.
The budding Nigerian played amateur football in his home country just two years ago, but since then Uche has risen to the top of European football and is now playing in Spain’s top flight.
The 21-year-old signed for just €500,000 in the summer and has become a mainstay at Getafe, with his performances attracting attention in west London.
According to Spanish media reports, Chelsea ‘working hard’ on Uche dealthe club’s board of directors were particularly impressed by his versatility. They are clearly the ‘most committed’ club to secure his services but Getafe won’t let him leave for a penny less £21m release clause.
