The Kansas City Chiefs he didn’t have to struggle, winning 21-7 with the team Cleveland Browns on Sunday, but the champions had to sweat because of an injury to their star quarterback.
Patrick Mahomes left the game after injuring his left ankle following an incomplete pass on fourth down in the fourth quarter. Carson Wentz he replaced him when the Chiefs got the ball back with 5:23 left.
Mahomes’ situation remains negative week to week after X-rays on his ankle came back negative. – NFL media reported on Sunday.
“It’s not broken, it’s sore,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters.
After the Chiefs won, Mahomes he was seen walking with a limp from the locker room before using the wheelchair to move around the stadium.
That day, he completed 19 of 38 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns. While Mahomes’ performance may not have been the prettiest, Sunday’s victory was the Chiefs’ most decisive win of the 13-1 season.
Mahomes equivalent, Jameis Winstonrecorded three interceptions in the loss, including two in the end zone. Cleveland benched Winston Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the fourth quarter.
This isn’t the first time Mahomes has dealt with an ankle injury in his career. He suffered a sprained ankle in the 2022 divisional round and played through the injury to lead the Chiefs to the Super Bowl title.
