Wells said: “We had one go and instead of selling a ticket, my friend Jamie said, ‘Why don’t you take a homeless man?’, who was sitting outside the bar at the time.
“So he went and got it. We just told him, ‘What are you doing tonight?’ He said, “Not much,” and started laughing at us.
“So we went and bought him a pint of Guinness and said, ‘You might as well come with us.’
“The only thing we didn’t have was a sombrero for him.”
The friends’ guest, a Scotsman named John, turned out to be a darts fan.
Wells explained: “He told my friend it was on his bucket list – he always wanted to play darts.
“The funny thing was they did a bullseye contest… and he ended up getting a free drink for it.
“We all tried and he came and hit his first bullseye. You couldn’t make this up.
“At least we made his dream come true. He doesn’t have much in life, but now he has something to remember.”
