Women’s Euro 2025 draw: England and Wales in same group

Defending champions England and newcomers Wales were drawn in the same group for Euro 2025 in Switzerland, joined by France and the Netherlands.

The Lionesses were in the second pot, so they always had to face either the hosts, Switzerland, or one of the other top teams. They avoided being in the same group as 2023 World Cup winners Spain or eight-time European Championship winners Germany.

England and Wales will meet in the final round of group matches on July 13 in St. Gallen.

Fourth place in the world is taken by Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses, Wales – 30th, the Netherlands – 10th, and France – 11th.

The tournament, which will feature 16 teams, will take place in eight locations in Switzerland from July 2-27.

Rhian Wilkinson’s Wales they defeated Ireland 3-2 on aggregate in the playoffs to reach their first major women’s tournament.

England secured their place by finishing second in their qualifying group.
