‘Littler Effect’ has big impact young darts players in Hull

The club hosts a junior night every Tuesday, but plans to organize additional activities to meet demand.

“A little over 12 months ago, 18 children came to us. Right after the 2024 final, that number jumped to 30 in a matter of weeks,” Laws said.

“Now we have 30 people on the waiting list and we probably ask four or five people every week if they can join.

“With Luke Littler, they’ve seen what he can do and of course they want to do the same.”

Fifteen-year-old Rylie, who already plays for the club’s senior team, said: “Him [Littler] he just developed the game and he makes me believe that he did it at such a young age, so I can do it too.

“I spend most of my time here. My long-term goal is to develop as a player and hopefully be as big as Luke Littler.”

Laws added: “It’s not just about competition. I encourage them all to judge the games, so even the younger ones will stand on the stool and judge the games.

“Then the math improves significantly. Many parents find that it has helped them in school.”
