Real Madrid and Brazil winger Vinicius Jr was named men’s player of the year in the Fifa Best Awards plebiscite.
The 24-year-old and his club boycotted the recent Ballon d’Or ceremony after he missed the meeting with Manchester City’s Rodri, but accepted the award in Doha.
Vinicius played a key role in Real’s winning campaign in the Champions League and La Liga in the 2023-24 season, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists.
