Over at X, host Crowley announces that a fan has suffered an emergency.

They posted: “Kick-off has been delayed by 15 minutes due to a medical emergency in the crowd.

“We send our condolences to the affected supporters.”

The Blues echoed Crowley’s wishes for the man’s well-being, as they conveyed the message: “We send our best regards to all involved.”

Crawley go into their clash against the 21st-placed Midlands side having won two of their last three matches.

A win against Chris Davies would lift them out of the relegation zone and into 19th place above Northampton and Bristol Rovers.

But they know they are up against an in-form Birmingham side who have won their last four league matches – six in all competitions.

Sitting second behind Wycombe in the table, a win in West Sussex would send them to the top.

And should they beat Crawley, they will hope it bodes well in their bid to return to the Championship.

In the last two seasons, the teams top at Christmas – Plymouth and Portsmouth – have won the league.

Although Birmingham, who are a point and a place above Wrexham, know that a defeat of more than two goals will see them drop below the Welsh side.

Birmingham enjoyed a nine-day break from action following their previous win over Bristol Rovers.

But they know the matches will come thick and fast after their clash in Crawley.

Monday night’s match kicks off a grueling run of five matches in 13 days, which will see them play four league matches with Lincoln as well as their FA Cup third-round tie.
