Darts worst kept secret is confirmed! Josh Rock signs for Target Darts

New house Josh Rock was confirmed and, as was widely expected, the Northern Irishman had made contact Aim at the darts. The news was officially confirmed this morning by Target on social media.

Rock has been known as a rising talent in PDC for several years. The 23-year-old Irishman from Northern Ireland won the PDC Youth World Championship in 2022, defeating Scotsman Nathan Girvan 6:1 in the final. In the same year, he won as many as five tournaments on the PDC Development Tour, also for the first time as a Tour Card holder. In 2022 he also won his first tournament at the Players Championship, in the final of the 28th tournament he was too strong for Luke Humphries 8-5.

After three years under the banner Mission dartsRock’s departure was confirmed following the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, where Rock suffered a disappointing third-round exit at the hands of Chris Dobey. “We would like to thank Josh Rock for all of his efforts with #TeamMission over the past three years,” Mission wrote at the time. “All the best for your future, Josh!”

As mentioned, this future has now been confirmed with Target Darts. “Welcome to Team Target – Josh Rock!” Target announces on social media. “We are pleased to announce the signing of one of the hottest prospects darts has to offer, former youth world champion Josh “Rocky” Rock.”

Could this be the move that allows Rock to fully realize his immense potential and start competing regularly for the biggest PDC title? Time will tell, but with Rock joining the likes of Chris Dobey, Rob Cross, Adrian Lewis, Dimitri van den Bergh, Nathan Aspinall, Phil Taylor and, of course, Target’s Luke Littler, success is seemingly in the air.
