David Coote shall not appeal against the termination of his contract by the body of referees PGMOLPA can understand news agencies.
Coote was fired earlier this month after a video surfaced in which he made derogatory comments. Liverpool and their former manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) said a thorough investigation concluded that he had “grossly breached the provisions of his employment contract, rendering his position ineligible”.
“Supporting David Coote is important to us and we are committed to his welfare,” added PGMOL’s December 9 statement.
Coote had the right to appeal the decision but the PA understands Nottinghamshire chose not to referee.
The video that sparked the PGMOL’s investigation into Coot’s conduct first came to public attention on November 11.
In it, Coote was asked for his views on the Liverpool match where he had just been made fourth official, and described them as “s***”.
He then described Klopp as a “c***” and, asked why he felt that way, Coote said “the German had a proper pop at me when I reflected on them against Burnley in lockdown” and accused him of lying. .
“I have no interest in talking to someone who is arrogant, so I try my best not to talk to him,” Coote said.
Later in the video, Coote refers to Klopp again, this time as a “German c***”.
D Football Association That video has launched its own investigation, focusing on the last comment and whether Coote’s reference to Klopp’s nationality constituted an aggravated breach of his misconduct rules.
Coot’s contract was canceled as a result of the PGMOL investigation.
European football’s governing body UEFA has also appointed an ethics investigator to look into the matter.
