Keane Barry defeated Kim Huybrechts 3-1 in a 180 fest that included a 17-max on Ally Pally to set up a second-round battle with Gerwyn Price in 2025. PDC World Darts Championships.
With 20 World Darts Championship appearances, Ally Pally had plenty of experience on the stage. This showed early chances of winning as the pair traded shots confidently in the first two games with a noticeable lack of drama. Even though Huybrechts had a nine-shot double in the third round, the Belgian wasted six shots in the outer ring and Barry stylishly punished him with a shot of 112. Recovering, however, Huybrechts pulled right back and forced a decider in which he had darts. Holding the fifth leg, the first set went to the Belgian.

Despite having 100% doubles in the first set, Barry’s scoring let him down. However, already in the first exchanges of the second set, the Irishman started shooting to take the lead. Despite Barry making a maximum return in the next match, Huybrechts returned two of his own en route to leveling the set. With the pair exchanging throwing holds again, the second set followed the first and ended in a deciding match. Barry had darts this time brilliant finish 108 I returned to normal conditions.

Holding the shot to open set four, Barry was getting closer to the second round. Huybrechts wasn’t done yet though, tying the set with a 13-under double. Despite Huybrechts pushing for 16.180 in the match, Barry moved one back, hitting a double eight with the last dart in hand. In the next stage, Barry immediately secured victory by arranging a meeting with Gerwyn Price.
