Voyce, from Truro, Cornwall, played for England from 2001 to 2006 before retiring from the sport in 2013.
As of 2020 he lives in Alnwick.
Specialized officers from the Northumbria Police Maritime Section, the National Police Air Force, drones and dog trainers were involved in the search.
Volunteers from North of Tyne Mountain Rescue also helped along with Mr Voyce’s family and friends.
