Few darters in the entire 96-player 2025 group PDC World Darts Championships go to Alexandra Palace with the same confidence and self-belief as Ritchie Edhouse. After a breakout year in which “Madhouse” won its first major title, it’s easy to see why.
Thanks to an impressive 2024 season, Edhouse is competing in the fifth PDC World Darts Championships of his career as a seeded player for the first time. “It’s going well. Of course, I became champion for the first time in history. Everyone was really nice and it’s just a good feeling,” says Edhouse Heavenly sports. “It’s huge. I mean, I feel like I should be here. I’m not just taking part in this. Every tournament I enter, I can win it.”

Edhouse has reached the second round twice in the past, but in his last two appearances at Ally Pally he lost 3-2 in the first round to David Cameron and Jeffrey de Graaf respectively. But this year, a different Edhouse is coming to north London.
“Obviously it’s the biggest tournament of the year in the world, so it’s nice to be in shape at the end of the year as well,” he says. “I have always said that confidence breeds confidence and going into it I feel like I could beat anyone if I play my game. Everyone there, if they play their game, can win it. And so we’ll just go there and see what happens when we play. At this point, I’m just done with Christmas. I would say I always lost the first or second round. So yes, it would be nice to come back after Christmas for a change and see what it’s like coming in.”
As the 29th seed, Edhouse opens her tournament in the second round. There, the winner of the duel between Ian White and Sandro Erik Sosing awaits the winner of the European Championship.
