Feb 7 – FIFA has suspended Pakistan “with instant impact” from the global game after rejecting the FIFA constitutional change.
In a statement on Thursday, FIFA wrote: “The PFF has been postponed due to the failure to accept the PFF Constitution, which will truly ensure a fair and democratic election and will result in compulsory PFF’s ongoing normalization process by FIFA. “
“The suspension will only be lifted subject to the approval of the PFF Constitution version presented by the FIFA and AFC, subject to the PFF Congress.”
Earlier this week, the FIFA Normalization Committee Chairman of the FIFA Normalization Committee in Pakistan had warned the PFF Congress in a letter that if the FIFA did not amend the FIFA, Pakistan had risked the risk of postponement if the FIFA amendment was not accepted.
He writes: “FIFA and Asian Football Confederations have stated in the most powerful terms that the Congress members want to be part of the FIFA family, they do not want to integrate with the spirit and policies of FIFA and AFC, and the newly elected Congress members have created a stagnation. During both virtual and physical discussions, FIFA was firm about the requirements of the Constitutional Amendments to adjust to FIFA policies. “
The PFF Congress has rejected an important amendment that focuses on the presidential election. The mandate of the current Normalization Committee will end on February 15.
