Aston Villa have agreed a deal to extend goalkeeper Phillipe Martial’s contract, according to reports.
Martial is a product of Aston Villa’s youth system but to date, has made just one senior appearance for the club in a 1-1 draw against Zarinjski Mostar in the UEFA Conference League last season.

The 21-year-old – who has qualified for England and Poland – has been on loan and games have come in handy this season, playing 25 times across all competitions for League Two side Crewe Alexandra.
Martial has kept nine clean sheets in that time, conceding 25 goals and helping the Crew sit fourth in the table, in the mix in promotion.

“I think while we all know his pedigree, everyone is going to make mistakes, myself included. You can see in his composure and his character and his quality, he’s done incredibly well.
Aston Villa sit sixth in the Premier League table, just three points adrift of the Champions League spots.
