Forest Dunes already has the two 100 best public courses.
Thanks to the kindness of the dunes
The architectural duo Gila Hanse and Jim Wagner seems to be everywhere right away, leaving your impression on old and new systems. But here are something they didn’t do: they never designed a course in Michigan.
This will change soon.
On Thursday, DUNY ForestryThe place remaining and playing in Roscommon, Mich., About an hour east of Traverse City, announced the plans of its fourth course, Skyfall, Hanse and Wagner Design, which will be the first original couple project in this state. When it opens, on a day that has not yet been established, the new course will expand the portfolio in the center that is already home to two courses List of golf 100 best fields that you can play -Forest, by the deceased Tom Weszopf and the loop, the reversible project of Tom Doak-a also a 10-hole short course called Bootlegger. Unlike siblings, Skyfall will act as a private club, and limited times a T -shirt designed for resorts guests.
In a written statement that accompanied the announcement, the owner of Forest Dunes Rich Mack said he was excited, that Hansse and Wagner loosened what he described as “the most convincing property on Forest Dunes.” Rooting, which architects dreamed of, will exceed 300 acres of a forested area, adjacent to existing resort courses, and will contain up to 70 rates of height changes.
In recent years, Hanse and Wagner have been one of the most fertile architects in the world, carrying out loud renovations and complements of courses, from the Los Angeles Country Club and the Olympic Club in California PO Oak Hill in New York, while producing such recognized original projects as Ohoopee Match Club In Georgia, Caprock Ranch in Nebraska and Les Bordes in France. As part of the Forest Dunes Hanse announcement, Skyfall would conjure up elements of some of these projects, including sandy waste and ohoopee rustic extensions, and the ongoing Les Bordes areas.
Construction in Skyfall is expected to start at the end of this year or early 2026.
