Shaun Fox qualified for Ladbrokes PDC UK for the first time in six years.
The 35-year-old from Harwich, who had practiced this sport since the age of 14, was thrown out of the event in the first round in his debut performance in 2019.
Now, after winning seven simple matches in qualifying at Arena MK on Monday, he caught one of only 16 places available to amateurs in field 160 and approaches Oshe in Minehead next month.
Fox admits that he was almost paralyzed by nerves for the first time, but now he thinks he is much more equipped.
“I will be more prepared – older and smarter – with extensive experience under my belt and a better player,” he said.
“Last time I lost 6-1 in the first round match with the former semi-finalist of the world championship Andy Jenkins. I was overwhelmed, but this year I am determined. “
Ladbrokes Professional Darts Corporation UK Open will be put up at the Butlins Resort in Minehead from February 28 to March 2, and Fox is looking forward to the challenge.
“I went to the qualifier, hoping I would do it,” I knew that the game was there, but it was all on that day, “he added.
“It went very well and I had seven wins on the reflection and I was one of the four amateurs who survived the event in Milton Keynes.”
Fox, which is a stock exchange controller for the premiere of Labellers in Harwich, plays Uppercourt Social Club.
He is a member of the Essex team who competed in many tour events.
Last year, he created the inaugural semi -final of the Rabott Trophy masters in The Princes Theater, Clacton, losing to the winner of Paul Wiliams.
