Simon Whitlock and Mervyn King confirmed for 2025 World Seniors Darts Championship

Just an hour after graduating from 2025 PDC Q-School, World Senior Dart Championships the field was filled with two big names who didn’t get PDC Tour Cards and who found their way into WSDT action in Mervyn King AND Simon Whitlock.

King and Whitlock will play at the Circus Tavern from February 19-22, 2025 after both leaving Tour Cards and joining Steve Beaton and Vincent van der Voort who have retired and taken a sabbatical from PDC Darts.

Whitlock is a former PDC World Championship finalist and former BDO finalist, and won the 2022 PDC World Cup with Damon Heta, as well as the European Championship in 2012. One of the most beloved players on the PDC Tour, although one door closes another one opens.

Mervyn King will also join the World Seniors group. A former world champion and two-time world championship finalist, his longevity in the PDC is astonishing and he will now play in the World Seniors after missing the tour last season like Whitlock.

Part of John played during the opening phase of Q-School but did not advance. He will return after a multiple appearance and fill the Canadian void left by Jim Long, who has now earned a PDC Tour Card. One sec Darryl Fitton also fills the field with his fan-friendly take on Madness’s One Step Beyond.

“We are truly pleased to confirm these four athletes for our upcoming World Championships,” said WSD President Jason Francis.

“They all need no introduction and will all be a welcome addition to an already talent-packed tournament.”

“This will be our biggest and fiercest World Championship yet and we can’t wait for it to start!”
