Germany will play its Nations League quarter-final match against Italy at Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion in March 2025, the German Football Association (DFB) announced on Thursday.
The match will take place on March 23, three days after the first match at Borussia Dortmund’s 82,000-capacity San Siro Stadium in Milan.
In a statement, DFB sporting director Rudi Voeller said: “Dortmund is the perfect location for an event that is a football classic.”
Germany, which is appearing in the knockout stages of the Nations League for the first time, won its last match at the stadium, beating Denmark 2-0 in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
Germany does not have a national football stadium where matches are played throughout the federal state, while England has Wembley and France, the Stade de France in Paris.
