Gerwyn’s price started the last 16 ahead of his World Cup darts teammate Jonny Clayton to the quarter-finals of the 2025 championship PDC World Darts Championships.
Price won 4-2 in sets against ‘The Ferret’ and now has a good chance of advancing to the semi-finals, where he will face Kevin Doets or Chris Dobey, who will face each other in the final stages.
Price finished the competition with an average of 92, five 180s, a high score of 124 and a 36% in the outside ring, which marked the victory and continued his resurgence on the Ally Pally stage.

Price got off to an impressive start, winning the first set 3-1, scoring three 180 points and an average of 103.3, before taking on “Fertka” early. The iceman strengthened his advantage at the beginning, then sealed the second set 3-1 and doubled his lead.
He pinned four 180s, 55% in doubles and an average of 107 as he continued to rise to the occasion, and Clayton did the complete opposite at this point in the competition with Price leading 2-0.
However, Clayton had a great response to his opponent’s fire, hitting a third set unanswered and ultimately tying the score. He produced cashes of numbers 72, 121 and 141 to get back into contention. He did so too, and missed doubles proved to be Price’s Achilles heel, scoring a total of 7/21, with Clayton finishing the set to restore parity.
However, Price regained the lead and did not make another jump unlike his last match where he lost the distance. He broke to start the next set and Clayton was unable to hold on to 96 points and consolidated. Price hit a 65 to make it 2-0, then completed the feat after more missed opportunities by Clayton, who scored in double figures of 20 points to win 3-1 and 4-2 overall.
