Gerwyn Price opens PDC World Darts Championship tilt with confident win over struggling Keane Barry

Gerwyn’s price He’s had a hot year, but he’s always kept the faith. He recently posted on Instagram this week about the return of hunger and showed that he has a real will to win Keane Barry 3-0 in 2025 PDC World Darts Championships.

Although not yet at full strength, Price was helped by 22 missed darts with a double from Barry, who had a torrid night in the outer ring and was made to pay by the ‘Iceman’, who will now return after Christmas with a good first win under his belt stripe eye. His roar at the board showed what that meant and, as he said on Sky Sports after the match, he wanted to win that match more than anything in his life.

He now has a platform to build on as he looks to return to his best form and become a two-time world champion.

Price dispelled any initial doubts. Typically a slow start, Price has shown he is a man on a mission. He entered the first set with an average of 100 and a high checkout of 112, and his trademark roar was also in full swing.

The second set was a disastrous disaster for Barry as he missed double after double and Price switched roles. He started out being at his best rather than fitting in until he collapsed.

He averaged 89 in the second quarter, but with 21 missed shots on a double, he still led 2-0. Price was sitting on 62 to go one away and Barry posted 144 and had a look where the whole game as ‘Iceman’ was still an equation of going one target while keeping the shot.

He kept the throw. He finished first at 170, but only managed a 57 to leave it at 113. Barry had a chance to set it up in case Price couldn’t hit the shuttle at 113. But his torrid night continued. Price couldn’t pin 113, but came back for 56 to win. The former world champion has had enough.
