Gio Reyna won for Borussia Dortmund on Sunday, he started in the Bundesliga for the first time in the season, but it was not enough to win.
Former Dortmund player Jacob Bruun Larsen he scored a goal in stoppage time and gave Hoffenheim a 1-1 draw.
Reyna’s goal came after he stopped a clearance attempt with his chest and then sent the ball into the top right corner to give Dortmund the lead immediately after the break.
It was also Reyna’s first goal of the season.
The 22-year-old American started for the first time in the season on Wednesday in Dortmund’s 3-2 defeat against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin apparently felt Reyna had done enough to deserve another start four days later.
Reyna has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons.
