Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp are one-time leads after the first round of the Grant Thornton Invitational in Naples, Florida.
Thailand’s Tavatanakit and American Knapp completed a round of 58 at 14-under par with 12 birdies and one eagle in the mixed PGA and LPGA Tour event.
American pair Jennifer Kupcho and Akshay Bhatia and Canadian duo Brooke Henderson and Corey Connors are a step further and take second place.
There are 16 mixed pairs taking part in the event, which will be held over three rounds at Tiburon Golf Club from December 13-15 and has a prize pool of £3.5 million ($4 million).
Lydia Ko of New Zealand and Jason Day of Australia, who won the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational in 2023, finished the round with birdies and tied for sixth place.
The last mixed team event held on the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour was the 1999 JC Penney Classic.
