Arsenal will not be able to sign Newcastle star Alexander Isak in the summer transfer window because he is too expensive for them.
daily mail It has been revealed that the Gunners need an elite number nine but they cannot afford the 25-year-old as the Magpies have slapped him with a whopping £150million asking price. It means the north London side will have to offer a British record transfer fee, which their boss Stan Kroenke is “extremely unlikely to approve”.
Isaac has had a slow start to the season but is now one of the most in-form players in Europe and even won the Premier League Player of the Month for December. The Sweden international scored eight goals and assisted two more for Newcastle in six games in December.
Insiders say Arsenal want to sign a world-class striker!
His latest goal came in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, as Eddie Howe’s side won 2-0.
The player has been linked with a number of clubs this season and his contract at St James’ Park expires in 2028. The Magpies are thought to be hoping to sign him to a new contract but talks have so far stalled.

Arsenal to sell three first-team players
The Daily Mail report also states that Arsenal will listen to offers for striker Gabriel Jesus at the end of the season. Their left-back Alexander Zinchenko could also be sold in the January transfer window.
Midfielder Thomas Partey, who earns £150,000 a week, will also be allowed to leave when his contract expires in June.
The Gunners will have no problem complying with profit and sustainability rules, but it is thought they will still not be allowed to bring in Isak from Newcastle.
Manager Mikel Arteta is believed to be an admirer of the former Borussia Dortmund man, as is former sporting director Edu, who left the club in November to take over as Nottingham Forest boss Serves under Evangelos Marinakis.
Any Champions League qualification would increase Isak’s chances of staying at Newcastle, with the club confident he will ultimately stay there next season.
