Hank Lebioda wins Korn Ferry Tour’s season-opening Bahamas Golf Classic

NASSAU, Bahamas — Hank Lebioda won the season-opening Bahamas Golf Classic on Wednesday for his first Korn Ferry Tour title, beating SH Kim with a birdie on the first playoff hole.

Lebioda finished the tournament with a 4-under 66 to match Kim, 63, for a tournament-record 18-under 262 at the Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis. Lebioda won in his 62nd start on the route.

“I’m just proud, really proud,” said the 31-year-old former Florida State player. “A lot of work has gone into preparing for this year and getting ready for this event. Fortunately, everything clicked, everything clicked at the right time.

Davis Shore shot back for a 66. Austin Smotherman took two shots back, also shooting a 66.

The tournament was the first of two in the Bahamas, and the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic will begin on Sunday at The Abaco Club.
