Gemma Hayter took the early lead on Monday, finishing day one in Group A in first place after a clean sweep with five wins from five as the second edition of Women’s Week got underway during the Modus Super Series.
Hayter, who last appeared in the Super Series in September, made an excellent comeback
winning all five of their matches, recording victories against Kirsi Viinikainen, Vicky Pruim, Trina Gulliver, Lisa Ashton and Steph Clarke, gaining a maximum of 10 points out of a possible 10 so far.
Elsewhere, Lisa Ashton finished the day in 2nd place with 8 points, while the three players of Vicky Pruim, Kirsi Viinikainen and Trina Gulliver are 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively with 4 points each, with Steph Clarke finishing last 1st place with 0 points after five consecutive defeats.
The Modus Super Series will continue on Tuesday with six players returning in the hope of increasing their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s final, with Hayter leading so far.
The match will start at 9:30 GMT and will be broadcast live on the Modus YouTube channel or on the websites of various bookmakers around the world.
