Leonard Gates he won Cameron Menzies in an atmosphere of noise and anxiety as the Scot cried after his World Darts Championship campaign came to an end.
Next up is Nathan Aspinall, and “Soulger” joked that a monster is coming. Menzies later confirmed on social media that he had some oche issues that were more important to him and perhaps were a bigger problem for him than the raucous crowd cheering his mistakes.

“It definitely feels great to come back and get through the first round to see what I can do in the next round or the one after that. It’s an amazing feeling right now,” Gates said after the match.
“The energy is the same, probably even greater than the last time I was here. She’s phenomenal. I’ve improved a lot because tonight doesn’t show what I did in the States. I’m on a roll, everyone tells me I’m in good shape. I want it to stay like this, like a snowball rolling down a hill, it builds, it builds.
“Nathan (Aspinall) has the support and love of the fans. But the monster is coming.”
Finally, he gave Menzies some words of encouragement and said he needed to figure out what he needed, but he hoped it gave him confidence.
“For a second I said, just play the game, don’t get involved in the negativity of someone rooting for you. Just focus on what you are doing and move forward. I would use that energy because if you play your darts and you hit what’s supposed to be hit, trust me the crowd will be silent.”
I hope I told him a few things that will help him in his game. Personally, as in life. He needs to understand what’s going on with him if he needs further help, but I hope I’ve said something that will build his confidence and keep his game on.”
Born to entertain, he said he has moves that Wright and Buntz don’t, which puts him ahead.
“If I can come from the States and perform on such a big stage, I will start wearing glitter clothes and dancing more. They have their little sparkle (Wright and Buntz), but they don’t have any moves.”]
