Ex Houston Dynamo FC Designated Player and recent signing Toluca Hector Herrera he must fulfill the three-match ban he received at the end of the previous one MLS season before debuting in the Liga MX team.
Mexican Football Federation on Thursday notified Liga MX that the first one Mexico International will leave the top three LigaMX matches due to the ban on spitting at the referee in the play-off match Dynamo against Seattle Soundersthus delaying its first start at Toluca until January 29.

“He must therefore comply with this sanction in the next three (3) official matches he will play against Club Toluca in the LIGA BBVA MX.”
The statement quoted the FIFA Regulations regarding the status and transfer of players, what it states: “Any disciplinary sanction lasting up to four matches or up to three months, imposed on the player by the previous association, but not yet served (in full) by the time of transfer, will be enforced by the new association with which the player has been registered for the purpose of enforcing sanctions at national level “

Due to his three-match suspension, Herrera will miss Toluca’s games against Club Tijuana, Monterrey and Mazatlán at the start of the Clausura 2025 season.
