Howson Edges Out Beaton To Claim MSS Legends League

On Saturday, Richie Howson took victory and was crowned the winner of the Legends League Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Steve Beaton in the final to claim the top prize of £5,000.

Howson, who entered the final after winning Group C on Thursday and Friday, started the evening by winning both group stage matches, defeating Darryl Fitton and Neil Duff to advance to the semi-final, where he faced Devon Petersen, and from there ‘The Owl’ sent “The African Warrior” 4-2 to book their place in the final.

In the decider, Howson faced Steve Beaton, who had beaten Neil Duff in the last four, and in a battle between two veterans of the sport, it was Howson who emerged victorious, defeating ‘The Bronzed Adonis’. , 4-2, to become the inaugural Legends League Super Series champion and take home the £5,000 prize money.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Series Ten and the start of Week One, with the first of three days of Group A and the field featuring Series Six champion Scott Taylor.
