Danny Noppert had another disappointing performance at the stadium PDC World Darts Championships on Saturday. “The Freeze” started his match against Ryan Joyce strongly, but in the end he had to admit his superiority over Ryan Joyce 3: 1 in sets.
This was the seventh appearance of “The Freeze”. Alexandra Palace. In his six previous appearances, Noppert had never made the last 16, which is actually an odd statistic for a player who has consistently been in the top 16 of the world rankings for the last few years.

“I performed well and consistently this year. I’m proud of it. But then you want to confirm it at the World Championships. I don’t know what’s wrong with me and the World Cup. I feel good here in itself. But I’m not Michael van Gerwen,” Noppert said in his first reaction after the match.
According to Noppert, there was no need to lose this match. “I played too sloppy and I was judged based on that. I didn’t have to lose this match. I missed too many doubles, they let me down. The scoring was good,” said the second Dutchman.
“If I had done well at the World Championships, who knows what would have happened. If I ever wanted to get into the Premier League again… But with two young children it’s difficult. On the other hand, when I won the UK Open two years ago and was seventh in the world rankings, I wasn’t invited either, maybe I’m not a player people like to see there,” Noppert draws a strange conclusion.
