Simon Whitlock he failed to retrieve his PDC Tour Card at Q School Last week, the year 2025. And so, after fourteen years, his time on the PDC circuit comes to an end. “The Wizard” reached the finals PDC World Darts Championships in 2010, which he also did two years earlier at BDO. Whitlock, who is now set to compete on the World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT), has also won one PDC Grand Slam tournament in his career.
After losing the 2008 BDO World Championship final to Mark Webster, Whitlock also lost the 2010 PDC World Championship final, this time to the inevitable Phil Taylor. Two years later, the Australian started supporting him because at the European Championships he was too strong for Wes Newton in the final 11-5.
“I thought I would win many more titles! But that didn’t happen and who knows why.” Whitlock reflects on this in an interview with the MODUS Super Series YouTube channel. “I mean, there are so many good darts players and Phil Taylor has ruined a lot of people’s darts lives and yes, I can blame him for that.”

In addition to the fact that the European Championship was the only major singles title Whitlock won, it would not be his only PDC TV title. Nearly a decade later, Whitlock won another major tournament, albeit with his country. Indeed, alongside Damon Heta, he won Darts World Cup in 2022, defeating Wales 3-1 in the final.
“It was the greatest feeling you’ve ever known. I was so nervous I was looking at myself in the back and thinking, ‘Come on, Damon, you’ve got to do it,'” he recalled of his World Cup of Darts victory. “Because I really didn’t want to play Gerwyn Price. By the end of the day I was pretty tired and had a great feeling that Damon would fix it so we didn’t have to ride on the last flat tire.
