Ian White reached the third round in 2025 PDC World Darts Championshipsthrowing out the European champion Ritchie Edhouse in a real battle on the Ally Pally stage. Luke Littler is now waiting for “Diamond”.
Both Edhouse and White made their first appearances at Alexandra Palace this year after the Diamond’s first-round opponent, Sandro Eric Sosing, had to withdraw before the match earlier in the week. That rust was on full display in the first set as well, with both players missing multiple darts on counterattacks before Edhouse finally scored a double triple. In fact, throughout the first set, none of the players looked happy, but in the end it was Edhouse who took the lead 1-0 despite an average of just 81.62.

The second set was also nothing to write home about in terms of standard. For Ian White, however, it didn’t matter one ounce when “Diamond” equalized the score at 1-1 after hitting a 16-darter in the fourth part of the set.
The third set also went to the experienced White as Edhouse became visibly more frustrated with his lack of form. Far from the darts that saw ‘Madhouse’ crowned European champion, Edhouse continued to post disappointing results in the 80s with his average.
White kept the momentum on his side with a solid shot hold to open the fourth set. Edhouse kept in touch in the next game, but in the next game “Madhouse” only hit a double 9 with his fourth dart, after which “Madhouse” looked more frustrated than motivated. However, after Edhouse missed the bull and broke in the next round, White was given a clinical test of 110 to take one leg of the third round. A few moments later, White’s work went even better and ended with a score of 118, which sealed the victory.
