International Cricket Federation president Jay Shah has joined the newly formed World Cricket Connects Advisory Committee, an independent group that will meet in the House of Lords on June 7 and 8 to discuss the The many challenges and opportunities of this sport.
Former BCCI secretary Shah took over as ICC president on December 1 last year and his attendance at the “World Cricket Connection” forum was an opportunity for him to convey his ideas to a wider stage.
Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the guardians of cricket’s rules, announced on Tuesday that it will once again host World Cricket Connect, an event that brings together the game’s most prominent thinkers, voices and influencers this year.
The MCC said in a press release: “The forum, which brings together influential figures from all aspects of cricket, has been hugely popular when it is first held in 2024, ahead of the ICC World Test Championship final between South Africa and Australia. held.”

Last July, around 120 of cricket’s leading figures gathered in the Long Room for the inaugural event. These include representatives from across the gaming community and industry, such as managers from ICC official and affiliated countries, leading broadcasters, technical experts, coaches and current and former international players.
“As the club continues to develop the World Cricket Connect concept, it aims to become cricket’s leading seminar, promoting debate on strategic issues in an independent forum and building consensus on the path to ensuring cricket’s future success,” noted.
“To achieve this, the MCC has revealed that a new World Cricket Connects Advisory Board (Connects Board) has been formed. This independent group will develop the annual World Cricket Connects agenda and help facilitate discussions at events to maximize the impact on sport health An opportunity to make a real impact.” The Connects Committee replaces the MCC World Cricket Committee and many areas of the global game that were debated and impacted as part of its remit will now be included and discussed by the Connects Committee.

The committee was established in 2006 as an independent body and has completed a range of important work covering the themes of the game, including day/night Tests, World Test Championship, increasing the pace of play, cricket multi-format sporting events such as the Olympics, anti-corruption deterrents Stronger.
The Connects Committee will work closely with the World Cricket Connects Working Group, led by MCC Chairman Mark Nicholas.
