Premier League legend Emmanuel Petit does not believe that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be able to win over Real Madrid fans if he decides to move to Real Madrid at the end of the season, and his defense is too much of a problem.
Alexander-Arnold there is no contract with Liverpool at the end of the season with free transfer to Real Madrid seemingly the most likely ending to the saga at the moment.

“So you’re offering him a huge contract? I know he has been linked with Real Madrid. Honestly, if he goes there, Real Madrid won’t forgive anything. He will go there and the fans and the club will tell Trent, forget what you have done with Liverpool so far.
“You won a trophy at Liverpool. You were the winner of the Champions League. You were the winner of the Premier League. Forget it. Exactly the same thing happened to me when I went to Barcelona. They told me, forget what you have done so far. You’re starting on a new page, so now you need to write a story with us.
Petit suggested that if Alexander-Arnold is unable to play solid defense first and foremost, then he may struggle to attract fans to the Bernabeu.
“If Trent does the same thing defensively at Real Madrid, they will kill him,” Petit said. “It doesn’t matter if he assists or scores, they will kill him anyway.
“See what happened in the Super Cup final? Oh my God. Defensively, Real Madrid was a nightmare to watch. Can you imagine Trent Alexander-Arnold in such a mess? After two or three games they will kill him.
“If I were Trent Alexander-Arnold I would think twice about it.”
