in Great Britain Q School 2025, Jim Long he recently earned a PDC Tour Card for the first time in his career. The 56-year-old Canadian won the last tournament at the Final Stage, which allowed him to start in the competition Professional trip for the next two years.

For Long, the Tour Card was a surprise. “Of course I thought there was a chance, but there is such a strong field there.” – this is what the two-time PDC World Darts Championship competitor thinks in an interview with Tungsten Tales. “It’s extremely hard to get a Tour Card, so I didn’t do it at all. I just wanted to go and play, and now I have to plan everything differently.”

But considering he now has a Tour Card, Long wants to make the most of it. “I have a PDC calendar on my phone and I started typing in where we were traveling to and from. I didn’t know that for two or three days it would be like in England, and then the next week in the Netherlands. So it’s going to be really crazy,” says the Canadian. “Honestly, it’s quite exciting!”

In recent years, Long has played on the MODUS Super Series and Seniors Tour. He also competed in the national CDC Tour (for North American players). “I planned to go to Q-School many years ago. But it was right after I retired, then Covid happened and I felt like a man, I don’t want to pay the money, get tested for Covid and then I won’t even be able to play,” he recalled. “I was quite happy and pleased to be doing the Challenge Tour in the coming year. I kind of expected it.
