Insider claims Arsenal will push to sign Newcastle’s Alexand…

Arsenal’s frustration is growing as their attackers have failed to impress this season.

Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have both struggled this season and their lack of consistency could force the Gunners into the market for a new attacker.

Arsenal’s recent defeat to Newcastle United showed they need a clinical finisher.

While Arsenal created chances but failed to finish them off in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals, Newcastle attacker Alexander Isak needed just one chance to score.

Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown reveals Football Insider The Gunners will be keen to sign the Newcastle United attacker.

He also claimed the Gunners would have to wait until the summer transfer window to sign the Sweden international.

“I think he’s the best center in the country.” he told Football Insider.

“He has all the qualities of a world-class striker and I can see him doing well at Arsenal.

“There is no doubt that Arsenal need to improve their forwards and I understand there are people at the club who believe new attackers are vital.

“Isak is their first-choice striker for all the reasons we talked about before, but whether they can finally get a deal done is another question.

“Newcastle are obviously reluctant to let him leave but Arsenal will try to bring him in.

“If they want to sign Isak, I think they have to wait until the summer because there’s a lot of money involved and you don’t see that very often in January.

“But they are determined to get it done because there is no doubt he will improve their attacking options.”

Alexander Isak joins Arsenal?

The Premier League giants have long been admirers of the attacker but failed to sign him while he was playing for Real Sociedad in La Liga.

The Magpies won his signature match and he has been causing a huge stir at St James’ Park ever since.

Arsenal may now have to pay a record Premier League transfer fee to sign him, and it remains to be seen whether they are willing to go to any lengths to sign Isak.

His arrival would be a game changer for them and solve their problems in front of goal. They lack offensive threats. Havertz and Jesus are both good attackers, but their skills and efficiency in front of the goal are not as good as Isaac’s.

Arsenal have come close to losing the league title over the past two seasons and are aware they may have to invest heavily in a new striker.
