Asked about it at full-time, former boss O’Neill said: “I didn’t see it (Ait-Nouri’s outburst). I’ve been told he got a second yellow. I spoke to him during the game.
“We’re under a lot of pressure. We’re trying to push the team beyond our level and you can’t get yourself in trouble. We’re stretched as we are. We need Ryan and now we don’t have him. I’ll deal with it internally. I understand the players are emotional but We have to have better control.”
Ait-Nouri will be a huge miss for Wolves due to his attacking threat and, at 23, it begs the question of how long he can stay at Molineux together. Manchester United and Tottenham have previously expressed interest in him.
