Connor Scutt delivered a very impressive performance in the first round of the 2025 season PDC World Darts Championships. The 28-year-old Englishman probably sent it Ben Robb 3-0, recording an average of 101.92. In the next round, “Sniper” will face ninth seed Damon Heta.
Despite not having a PDC Tour Card, Scutt had a very impressive 2024, winning the Challenge Tour, posting consistently impressive Pro Tour performances following his call-up, and even turning in a career-best starring performance in the recent Players Final Championship at Minehead. “I just love playing on this stage,” the Englishman reflected in his own post-match press conference. “I learned a lot from the last two shows [televised] tournaments and I hope I can build on that here.”

Last year, Scutt also impressively won his first round before being eliminated in the second round. “It’s nice to have the first over 100 average in the tournament!” Scutt continues with a smile, emphasizing that he is a much better player than he was twelve months ago when he returned to the Pro Tour with a Challenge Tour victory. “I am a much better all-around player when it comes to performances. I feel like I’m a much better equipped player now than before, which I think will put me in a good position for next year.”
Connor Scutt is now fighting Damon Heta
As mentioned, in the second round on Saturday, December 21, Scutt will face ninth seed and number one Australian Damon Heta. A tie that has extra meaning for Scutt after the pair prepared for Ally Pally together. “Me and Damon have been training partners for the last few weeks,” Scutt concludes. “It should be a great match. It will be nice to play a friendly match there.”
