The Recent Resurgence of “Machine Gun” Jermaine Watttimen continues. The Dutchman started 2025 impressively PDC World Darts Championships campaign and secured a stylish 3-0 victory Stefan Bellmontan average of 98.54 to set up a second-round meeting with James Wade on Monday.
After strong performances at the European Championships, Darts Grand Slam and Players’ Championship Finals in recent months, Jermaine Wattimena headed to Ally Pally full of confidence. This self-confidence was visible both in the first set and for the Dutchman he got through the first set 3-1 after goals 18, 13 and 14.

A brilliant double-double checkout saw Wattimana break Bellmont’s shot also in the first part of the second set, continuing his momentum. After he went up 2-0, the set seemed to be winnable for Wattimena. Although Bellmont pulled one leg back, the Dutchman kept his cool and secured leg 4 to take a 2-0 lead, just one leg away from a second-round draw with James Wade.
Bellmont wasn’t done yet, however, and entered the third set after a layup. However, after he lost the chance to hold on in the second match, Wattimana immediately broke through, and when the Dutchman held the shot himself in the next match, he was only one leg away from victory. While Wattimana sat on top of the match, Bellmont held his nerve, pinning and calling at 83 to force a deciding match in the set. With his 5th 180th in the competition, Bellmont also took first place in the deciding race. However, after the Swiss narrowly missed a double 12 in the set, Wattimana hit the top with his second match shuttle to book his place in Round 2.
