Jordan Spieth failed to qualify for the PGA Tour season that begins this week, but that won’t stop his caddy from finding himself in a difficult situation.
Michael Greller, who has been Spieth’s caddy throughout his professional career, will replace Max Homa’s regular caddy, Joe Greiner, at Kapalua, where Homa will compete in The Sentry.
Greller’s service, first reported by PGATour.com’s Sean Martin, will only be in effect for this event before Greiner returns to Homa’s bag for his boss’s next start on the West Coast swing.
This week Michael Greller has a new bag. He helps Max Homie at The Sentry.
It’s only temporary.
Greller’s boss, Jordan Spieth, is not in the field and Homa needed an interim replacement. His longtime caddie, Joe Greiner, is expected to return later on the West Coast.

Spieth is still recovering from August surgery to repair damaged ulnar nerve in his left wrist. He said Golf week in September, with his shoulder fully wrapped and braced, that he expects to play “under my ceiling” again on January 1, although he has not yet announced when his 2025 debut will take place.
Homa is also expected to unveil several new sponsors in Kapalua. On Monday, during a visit to the clinic, he was photographed wearing clothing without a logo, although he was wearing Puma golf shoes.
