‘For those of you who have expressed concern, I can confirm that reports of my surgery have been exaggerated, it was just a quick and short procedure.

‘I will start training again on the first day back from holiday as usual. I’ve never missed a session in 25 years, and I don’t want to start now.

Mourinho was in the dugout for Fenerbahce’s 1-1 draw with Yupspor in the league on Friday and actually gave a scathing assessment of his team’s performance and the quality of the match.
