Jude Bellingham has equaled Lionel Messi in Champions League goal contributions for players aged 21 and under.

Midfielder Rodrigo assisted both goals in the first half of Real Madrid’s league clash against Red Bull Salzburg.

His effort took his tally of Champions League goal contributions to 24, with Dong aged 21 years, six months and 24 days.

Bellingham tallied 11 goals and 13 assists in Europe’s elite competition, equaling totals Messi’s [17 goals, seven assists] When he was 21 or younger.

The Argentine football icon, who has won four Champions League titles, scored 17 goals and assisted seven more for Barcelona.

However, their tally has been beaten by their respective Madrid and Manchester City stars Kylian Mbappe And Erling Haaland.

The former made 37 contributions before turning 22, while the latter reached 26.

Bellingham was substituted in the 64th minute of the game at the Santiago Bernabeu so Messi had no chance to cross.

The England international now has a total of 32 goals and 22 assists in all competitions for Madrid.

18 of those 54 contributions have come this season.

Madrid face a battle to reach the last 16 of the Champions League after a poor run of form at the start of the campaign.
