Luke Littler begins his World Darts Championship campaign against Ryan Meikle on Saturday, December 21, and Meikle’s training partner Keith Deller assesses the odds against The Nuke.
Łukasz Małyr is looking to go one better than his last appearance in the 2024 World Darts Championship and goes into his first match of the tournament as the bookmakers’ favourite.
Keith Deller, who trained with Ryan Meikle in the build-up to the Senior World Darts Championships, revealed whether the Ipswich ace could cause problems for the 17-year-old in their second round clash.

The 1983 world darts champion is well-acquainted with Meikle’s slow playing style and even revealed that the top star found it difficult to play the Ipswich star.
Speaking exclusively to The Darts Insider ahead of the new Sky Darts Kings documentary, Deller said: “I always remember Ryan Meikle telling me he played with James Wade in a tournament on the floor and James Wade told him, ‘Playing with you is too much boring.” against’. This is typical Wadey!”
As for Meikle’s chances against Littler, the darts icon doesn’t offer much hope of taking down the giant in the second round.

“I think Littler is going to pull a big prank on Ryan. I think it will be a hurdle too far.”
Littler will play Meikle in the final match of the evening session on December 21 at Alexandra Palace.

Even though his training partner Deller didn’t give him a chance, Meikle heads into the match against The Nuke with hopes of defeating the teenage star.

“I’m not going to sit here and say I can win – of course I have a chance – but I’m excited and looking forward to it.”
Meikle defeated overwhelming crowd favorite Fallon Sherrock in his opening round match and will upset the crowd again if he defeats Littler.
