Leicester make approach to club for January signing, agent c…

According to a recent report, Leicester City have made contact with the club over the signing of a new defender. The Foxes suffered their first defeat under Ruud Ruud van Nistelrooy on Saturday but the Dutchman will hope it does not undermine the positive work he has done at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City transfer news

The January transfer window opens in a few weeks and, like any new manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy will have his eye on potential new signings he wants the club to sign.

Leicester City have reportedly made an offer for Leuven midfielder Ezehir Benzuzi. The 19-year-old is favored by several teams across Europe but the Foxes may have an edge in the competition as they and Leuven are owned by the same man, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha. It is believed Banzuzi could cost the Premier League side up to £12.4m.

Ryan Kent-Fenerbahce-Turkish Super League

As well as Benzuzi, Leicester City are also competing for winger Ryan Kent. The former Rangers man is currently without a club after leaving Fenerbahce earlier this season, with a number of Premier League sides interested in securing his services for at least the remainder of the season.

Ipswich and Crystal Palace are also interested in signing Kent, so competition is fierce, but this is likely to be a deal that won’t happen until the New Year, even though the player is out of contract.

Leicester City approach Atalanta to sign Ben Godfrey

According to ASRomaLive.it, broadcast by “Sport Witness”, Leicester City have made contact with Atalanta over the signing of Ben Godfrey. The centre-back, who can also play at left-back and right-back, looks likely to be on the move in January after his move to Italy didn’t progress as he had hoped.

The 26-year-old was signed by Atalanta from Everton in the summer, but the move did not pan out as he made just four appearances for the Italian side in his six months there, two of which were In the Champions League. Godfrey is yet to start for Atalanta and has only played 67 minutes in total as a substitute despite costing him £10m to arrive from Goodison Park.

Atalanta are reportedly willing to let Godfrey leave in January, either on loan or on a permanent transfer. Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has given the ‘green light’ to the transfer as he may eye his own reinforcements. Godfrey is keen to leave the Serie A side, with Leicester City, Wolves and Nottingham Forest all interested.

All three Premier League clubs have made inquiries about signing the England international and, given Atalanta’s willingness to let him leave, contacts between the clubs and the player’s agents are likely to take place soon.
