Mail Sport’s Ian Ladyman identifies one reason Pep Guardiola will probably leave Manchester City Of his own volition, rather see the club sack him from his post.
Manchester City are perhaps on an unprecedented 11-game run in which they have won just once in all competitions, which naturally increases the pressure on Guardiola’s position.
As such, on the latest episode of It’s All Kicking Off with Ladyman and Chris Sutton talk about whether City could theoretically finish the season without the talismanic boss.
“Pep’s relationship with Manchester City is so sympathetic, so close that I don’t think either side would allow that to happen, it would be the ultimate disgrace for Pep Guardiola and he wouldn’t deserve it.
He could lose every game until the end of the season, but he won’t let that happen. Guardiola is a man who will walk, just as he did at the end of the 2012 season Barcelona When he went and had a year off in New York to get his head back together.
‘He was only at Barcelona for four years before his mental anguish became too much – this is his ninth year at City. If it continues I don’t think his pride will allow him to oversee it indefinitely.’
